No Looking Back

Seven years ago I was diagnosed with stage four cancer and my entire world was turned upside down. After a four hour surgery to remove my left ovary, part of my colon, my appendix and part of my abdominal wall, I stayed in the hospital for a week running high fevers.

When I finally returned home, I was so weak I could barely walk to the bathroom without getting inked. I underwent six months of oral chemotherapy. I decided to change my diet and undergo acupuncture treatments. Three months later, the cancer went into remission and I resumed my life getting back to work as a commercial actress and yoga instructor.

Three years later, the cancer had returned with a vengeance. I headed to an immunotherapy clinic to undergo alternative therapies. These therapies stabilized my condition for the following two years. However, in late December, scans showed that the cancer had spread throughout my abdomen.

I was given 3-6 six months to live, put into hospice care and told to get my affairs in order. I started this blog to share tips I've gathered along the way to find happiness at rock bottom. It is possible to find Bliss at Zero.
